Interesting. Did Gaga really fire him then or was it a situation where he quit and she "fired" him posthumously? Regardless, he left a huge mess in his wake.

Nick is telling the truth, someone told me that even if she wanted to release the DWUW, she would have to pay the rights because Troy and his company owns it. Guess it'll never see the light of the day.

Gaga should just release a new Do What U Want video sometime next year since that one is unavailable and probably won't ever be released until she is completely done. There are still a lot of interesting ways that she could do it without being overtly sexual.

No, she fired him, and she knew the whole thing would be a mess. She was going to put it off until after the ARTPOP era, but basically Troy had muted her ENTIRE vision of the era and she couldn't take it anymore. The original era was going to be Aura - Venus - G.U.Y, but Troy wanted Applause and convinced her to release it. She was going to go ahead with Venus and start her vision from here, but again Troy was changing everything and denying her ideas, so she decided to post-pone it, release a song she thought would self-start (DWUW), fire Troy, and re-start the era the way she originally envisioned it.

Basically, nothing of the ARTPOP era up until this point was Gaga's idea or creation, even though she's had the entire era planned out for years.

EDIT: DWUW was Troy's decision, but Gaga decided to go along with it because she thought she could sacrifice it and still have it do well while the firing Troy thing happened. I hope that makes sense. I'm not sure if I'm wording everything correctly lol.

Aura would have been an interesting way to start out an era. It definitely would have made her look more artistic and less commercial - which I'm pretty sure is where she is going from now on. I know the EDM and college men would have been totally for it but I don't know how anyone else would have appreciated it.

Wonder why she waited so long to restart it though? Wait until DWUW was completely done?
