That's not an excuse. Adele's 21 is the best selling album in like a decade yet she had 3 massive digital seller singles. Oh, and I don't mind DIL reaching #1, I love the song now.

Very monotonous and a weak melody. It's my least favorite song of the decade so far. So glad Katy has been blocking it so far.

it's repetitive but it has a strong melody, the melody's part of the reason why that song gets sf annoying after 5 minutes

The thing is DIL didn't have a conventional release, not only that, but up until recently, it was just played on urban radio. Urban radio airplay doesn't really translate into huge digital sales. Now that it is crossing over to Top 40 radio, I expect/hope that it will increases in digital sales. The good thing for DrIL is it has stayed stable on iTunes and isn't free-falling.
