While Jonghyun is the most talented in SHINee for sure, I'd argue he pales in popularity compared to the others. Taemin being the one that springs to mind. I'd say he was the most popular. Talent wise though, Jonghyun is definitely the forefront of the group.
I love Jessica's voice, especially the high part. Her tone is so distinctive.
Jessica's voice is one of my least favourites from the group. I mean, she gets the job done well and everything, but the constant aegyo quality her voice has is irritating. SM also have a habit of giving her belts she shouldn't be belting.

I feel like outside of Korea, Taeyeon doesn't seem like much of a leader. Especially when they went to the US, Taeyeon was basically in the background the whole time. Jessica and Tiffany were the leaders. And again in Japan, Seohyun and Sooyoung do more because of their Japanese skills.
SM just picked Taeyeon as the leader because of her voice, but she doesn't have the personality of a leader imo. I think she hates Jessica for this reason, she undermines her status as leader.
After Taeyeon, Jessica has the most consistent live vocals in the group. Her voice may not be to everyone's taste but I think it's definitely more stable than Tiffany. Taeyeon, Jessica and Seohyun seem to have the most range and live vocal ability.

I know what you mean, but I think that's because of the fact that Jessica and Tiffany speak English, so Taeyeon loses all communication value outside of singing when not in Korea.
I mean, Taeyeon's barely a leader anyway, but I think a lot of people in Korea still see her as the centre, with a lot of help from her OST's as well. The whole situation with Jessica is weird though, because she has this personality where she wants to be at the front, but she wants to act like she doesn't want to be.
Really? I've heard of them before, they've done a looooooot of work for US R&B and hip-hop artists.
