In the vibe interview they made it seem like there was a video for Shakin it for daddy either out now or in production...I hope so.
I was SO PRESSED to have Shakin it for daddy a summer single but I understand Nicki nixed the idea because she didn't want to play a stripper to mess up the image she was trying to get for PF.
Robin chose the snoop track as the single instead.
WOW reminiscing is so fun.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG...I'm convinced. I'm pyschic.

I HAVEN"T CHANGED ONE BIT WITH MY DISSERTATIONS AND SINGLE SCHEDULES. LOL

No it gives them time to ride this song out for the rest of July and release her next single produced by Swizz Beatz in mid August and ride that hit all the way until Mid October when she releases her "3rd" single in the beginning of November...this is how it works now, release 3-4 songs before the album drops (Drake & Usher)
Massive attack=massive flop
<<your love=unexpected summer hit.
This would actually ride out until August. It has about a month left in it and they should released the next single to radio late August/early September and then the video late September...then release the "third single" late November/early December just for promo/sale purposes.
Some other person: Drake only released 2 singles and Ushers label was craving for a POP hit for an established artist. This strategy could easily backfire since Massive Attack flopped and there is no guarantee she'll have another hit.
MY RESPONSE: >>true...however, I have a feeling that they are going to release the right singles. Nicki was the one that pushed for Massive attack. I think she has learned her lesson and even between Lil wayne and YM they released all the right single with them. Her chances are high
>>I agree...except when you are talking about 4th quarter sales.
Your love is going to peak on urban by August and start to gain traction on pop by august...they will probably release songs to urban first and then release to crossover right before urban peaks to make it have more longevity.
If they release the third record late late November/December to radio at least that can help boost sales during this time and then put out a video during January where albums are slow she can keep her position high with a new record. Kind of like what "toxic" did for Britney years back (it help christmas sales to be released in December and helped keep it higher on the charts during January when the actual video was released.
In her position, they need to strike while the iron's hot.
I see it like this:
Spring single "promo" Massive attack
Summer: Your love
late summer/fall: new single
late fall/winter: third official sinlge.
spring: fourth official single
summer: fifth official single
Platinum plus album.
Edit: Hmm, so that was Check it out, right thru me, Moment for life, and Did it on em I would have never predicted Superbass.

HOw do I get this so RIGHT?
>>with sales quite high in November I could see it doing north of 250k if they promote the heck out of it. I think they are going to push for 2x platinum when it is all said and done. I see platinum within reach.
Other poster: Damn November is so far away...I don't understand the need for all the singles. After "Your Love" is done they should put out another single and a few weeks later drop the album. Mid-October would be better.
MY RESPONSE >>If she just put out a video in August I doubt they would have a video ready earlier than Oct/Nov. I think they will releae it to radio and then shoot the video a few weeks laterand release it right intime for promo during late Nov. Dec. (if they were smart they would do that)
<
<I think they are going to make sure she makes a mark with this album. With swizz beatz on hand...I am confident that the third single they release will be a radio hit. they wont put out an accidental smash...
it will be a planned smash. T
hey know how much is riding on the next single to be a hit and I think it will do great. My thing is that they can't release a record just off of Your love, they need another smash to really sell the album.
My thing is I would like to see her debut at #1 but she is releasing in a competitive time. Not sure if #1 debut is in line...hopefully top 5.
