Coddie, you are 18 years old and the internet was far from what it is right now back then. You can't exactly know what was going on with Britney 14 years ago.
Yes, there were HUGE album sales with OIDIA, but we also went through no #1 worldwide singles and a big drop from an album to another - 9 million to 4 million - in basically one year, and the media AND the haters all picked on that.
And don't even get me started on how they trashed her for her personal life decisions after the JT break-up.
The only thing we had then were good performances, but honestly, after 5 years of average to tragic performances to NONE, will you really still be affected by that?
P.S.: We probably will have zero Top 10 singles for a long time... But also, there will be no big promo blitz for those singles, so...
