Y'all ALWAYS complain when Usher does Generic music, yet it continues to chart the highest each era.
It's the same with monsters. Lady Gaga and her lil' monsters claiming she "doesn't
make music for the charts," but then want her to release "Gypsy," which
sounds like a terribly generic Usher dance track from 2010.
Isn't that's what it's intended to do? Get eaten up by the lowest common denominator?
But I mean, his Raymond v Raymond era for example:
1st Single - Papers (#31 on Hot 100)
2nd Single - Daddy's Home (#24 on Hot 100)
3rd Single - Lil Freak (#40 on Hot 100)
4th Single - OMG (#1 on Hot 100)

eh it was okay. I remember going to a club and them playing it 3 times, just as much as ICON's Where Have You Been, and me enjoying it a lot. Usher's dance stuff isn't that bad. I'm glad Electro pop is over though, don't get it twisted.

He didn't send any of those songs to pop radio. They were all under that "dual single" ******** trend. He never even attempted to promote those songs to mainstream audiences enough for them to use. But I'm glad it finally caught up with him.

Climax was FALSETTO over a R&B/dance beat without drops every 10 sec. Easily one of the most inventive singles put out this decade. Nothing on Artpop is as creative.

There no point sending them to Pop if they were Urban.
It was ground-breaking and fresh the first week or two it was out, but it lacks replay value.
