beyonce's blackness puts her under a harsh microscope in the stan world

The general public's opinion of Beyoncé has changed. Beyoncé has
only recently been seen as a "black artist" -- beginning right around the start of the "4" era through to "BEYONCÉ." From "Survivor" through to the end of "I Am... Sasha Fierce," Beyoncé was very much a Caucasian-appealing artist like Rihanna is now. Usually private, arguably almost hidden, Beyoncé began flaunting her relationship with Jay Z more openly during "4," followed by the pregnancy, not to mention their recent racy performance at The Grammys together. The general public doesn't like to see Beyoncé with Jay Z and Jay Z immediately "blackens up" Beyoncé's image and makes her less appealing to the general public and more of a "black artist."
