We'll see who's laughing when she gets a 41 on metacritic and struggles to reach platinum.

Yes, 22 and WANEGBT are not masterpieces and definitely have elements of immaturity in them, but still they are not as disastrous as some of you make them out to be.
And I still don't get why you call her "pop star" persona forced. To me, she looks/sounds genuine regardless of what she' singing. When she sings 22, you can tell that she's really enjoying it and that's what she really wants. It doesn't look like she's forcing anything or like "UGH I don't wanna sing those stupid pop songs anymore, where's my guitar?? MEH". And besides, her performances of those pop songs are as good/bad as any of her other live performances.

Watching Her go through the MM tracks routines are embarrassing to say the least. Vocally, it's painful to listen. For someone who sells so much heart, being human, 'gimmick-free' gimmick, and the all-too-true connection, it's not looking great for Her.

Except that I actually returned it long time ago, then I burnt it down for good after watching clips of the Vegas residency.

Her vocals on the MM tracks are as good/bad as anything she's ever done. She sings in the same D3 - D#5 range she always sings in and uses the same technique, and even screeches on the same notes. I don't see what's more painful vocally about her MM tracks performances than her usual (screechy) performances tbqh. Her dancing? Well, she dances in the performance of her non-MM track, Treacherous, too and it's still awkward/embarrassing in both cases

You have to take things so literal, don't you?
Girl, I don't feel enough of sincerity in Her MM tracks routines. There's a reason why Taylor Swift was able to be such a major player without MM. There's uniqueness that can't be described, something that made Her endearing to a lot of the stans pre-MM, the ones who actually bought Her albums, supported Her all the way through, and grew with Her.

I agree that the MM tracks are enjoyable but they just seem so hollow.

K, I get what you're saying. I just felt you guys were overreacting over the whole MM collabs thing. All I'm trying to say is: Calm down, it's still Taylor Swift. She knows why she sells (her uniqueness) and she's not exactly known for being a dumb person, so I really doubt she's gonna let his artistry overpower hers. Save your meltdown for the album release/leak day

But She actually gave some info, so we're just reacting to it.
I will keep saying this: As long as Scott Borshitta is still in the picture, I can't rest easy.

Yeah, she belts better on 22 (live) and doesn't sound as nasal and doesn't force the C5/D5. But why are you comparing 22 to DJ when you can compare it to All Too Well, for example? They're very different songs to be compared. 22 was simply not made to have as much emotion as DJ, so the more you look for that amount of emotion in it, the more you disappointed you will be. 22 was created to be a fun party song about being young and enjoying life at that age. Don't try to make it more/less than what it is.

Stop playing music teacher all the time, pls. I would have gone to other forums if I was looking for it. Not ATRL.
And it's not like ppl here are completely clueless about music theory as well.

I'm making the argument that people aren't drawn to her vocals, they're drawn to her emotion and the story.
