The Erotica era is by far my favorite Madonna era. I always like to see her interviews from that era and I love the album. It's quite interesting to me to see the press attention she garnered during that time as well. When the album dropped, then the book, they had whole news articles and stories on TV. She's such a force in pop culture.
The Erotica/Sex era was a creative high point for her. The Girlie Show is testament to that, great tour. I wish she'd go back to that live band sound, though she doesn't really have the voice to carry it off any longer.
Saying that, her live vocals (when they're on point) are so much more preferable than the thin, shrill vocals on some of MDNA and the MDNA Tour DVD audio mix (which was an absolute travesty). She sounds better when she sings at lower keys, not sure why she insists on going as high and thin as possible.

Madonna's vocals have declined somewhat recently, and I agree that she mixes the audio too high on the DVDs. Not to mention the albums. Some guy on YT took the MDNA singles down a few keys and it sounds so much more natural/less forced.

Oh, I remember that video, that was the same time someone made that thread about that fan who took a photo Madonna in her apartment and then Monsters ran in saying how it was creepy etc and then I clocked them with that news article about the ones who broke into Lady Gaga's house and were found in her garage.
Madonna's only been to the AMA's 3x in her career.
That's cus they are a c-list award show, only flopping a-listers are desperate to attend
