Why would a 7 year old girl lie about something like this though? Why would she do that to her father figure? The facts remain that under 10% of allegations of child sexual abuse are false.

The fact that people choose to believe a man who married his 'adopted' (not technically, she was Mia's but the point still stands) daughter over the actual victim speaks volumes. Notice how Mia Farrow gets the blame even though Woody was the one assaulting a 7 years old.

I'm sorry, but as far as I know, we have no facts and its all allegations. Ad the fact that his story is backed up by doctors (from what I know). I don't see how you can really take the other girls side without some type of proof.

Basically this. The letter was highly emotional thus easy to manipulate people. But facts are facts. The case was disproven 20 years ago by several regarded institutions and individuals and it's not gonna get picked up again anyhow.

I was having this debate with my sister a few days ago. She bluntly said to me "so you're okay with abusers as long as they're talented?" because I was listening to Thriller and watching Annie Hall over the span of a few days. I told her I am slightly conflicted every-time I listen to or watch their art but I take an ignorance-is-bliss approach more often than not because I guess I instinctually try to remember the best in people even it's somewhat delusional. I always try to separate someone's personal life from their professional life. I still listen to R Kelly (on occasion) and I still listen to Lostprophets (lead singer is a pedophile). As for movies, I never pay attention to who directed it. I only know who Woody Allen is because he goes to a lot of Knick games.

But majority of people on this site love MJ and have nothing but good things to say about him, but they absolutely hate people R Kelly.
