But the whole problem in the first place is b/c she refused to apologize twice. CBS wanted public apologies from both of them in order for them to attend the Grammys. JT agreed, but Janet did not. Janet then got uninvited from the Grammys, and blacklisted by ClearChannel and Viacom. The blacklist was not b/c of the incidient, it was because she refused to kiss FCC's ass and overapologize. She never went on a sympathy tour. She went back to work also. But there was only so much she could do with 0 radio airplay and no MTV support. She couldn't even find a sponsor for a tour. The whole thing is just sad.

There lies the problem. She tried to be Mrs. Big and Bad but when it backfired she took matters into her own hands. If she had agreed to the CBS' terms in the first place everything would have been okay. Shame how such an iconic career could be rendered completely insignificant by a single decision.

Still, she should have held her ground. Jackson apologized, and look
what happened? If her career was ruined, AT LEAST she would have had
some strength and dignity for not apologizing, but she didn't even have that.

I think if she knew her career would be killed, she prob. would have done another apology like JT did but she didn't know that she would get blacklisted over the situation.
