I think it has to do with the fact that Dutch venues demand the performers to be finished in time for people to get home by train, and the last one for some parts of the country leaves at 23.15 or something... If the performers don't comply at the date of the show they will get fined for tens of thousands of euros to pay for all the people to get home by taxi/bus/train etc (which might be very expensive, especially if people take a taxi and travel for hundreds of kilometers)
