Yes, unfortunately chances are looking rather slim for her to go #1 again but anything can happen and I'll remain optimistic. Tbh, I just want her to have one more big era and get one more #1 with like 9/10 million albums sold worldwide. I'm glad she's not willing to sacrifice her artistry for numbers. #Beautiful did well, imo, though it could have done better.
As for her record, a lesser can break it and it won't mean a thing to me. I think it's rather easy now to get a hit because they count sales/streams/airplay/video streams/and a bunch of other things now which they didn't when she was at her peak. Youtube, Itunes, and Spotify weren't even conceptualized back then

Exactly! It's much easier to get a #1 today than it was in the 90s. People were going out to buy Mariah's singles, they had to physically leave the comfort of their home- but it was worth it because her music was amazing. Today, all you gotta do is use some recycled track and your fanbase can just loop your MV on YT until you get #1 on BB. It's make BB lose a lot of credibility in my eyes.

Fixed?  Why isn't her latest release eligible for this rate? If mixtape 1999, mixtape 2001, mixtape 2002 and mixtape 2009 made it, so should mixtape 2013
