I honestly think she just knows nothing can really save her right now. Peoples minds are made up. I mean if Do What You Want couldn't smash then idk, that song is her best release in years. The only way she can change **** up is if she releases a new record sometime soon. Itll be like hitting the refresh button for her.
A new album soon would look too desperate. And it will confuse many people because she released an album almost 4 months ago. The better way is to release Gypsy in february and GUY in May to promote the tour. Then release the lead single of a new EP in September but she has to make sure its a smash hit. If the song is a big hit release the album one month later aka BR and TFM. If the song is a flop release one more single

I only think she should release one more single, release a video, and let that be the end of this era. Then come out with an EP or album during the summer. I think an EP seems more plausible but to be honest I dont think shell release an EP again. (and to be really real she probably wont even release new music this year lol but I digress).
I think to some people she'll always come off desperate because they want to think that she is. The only way it won't matter is if her new work is critic approved. Thats really all she needs to reclaim her careers dignity.
Okay, so throughout the video, Gaga would wear 4 looks:
1. Statue-Gaga: her wig, bikini, and body painted with white/light tan paint, as if to look like a statue (ala the ARTPOP album cover). Her wig is the long curly blonde wig worn in the single cover and during her performances on SNL.
2. Stripped-Gaga: her stripped down, without a wig, and just black lingerie on. This is basically the look used in the BTS photos released for the “Do What U Want” video. Her hair is worn the same way as in those photos + as it is in the X-Factor UK performance of the song.
3. Koons-Gaga: basically the same exact outfit as Statue-Gaga, except unpainted. The same blonde wig, and the lingerie has the floral pattern worn in the single cover.
4. Nude-Gaga: about the same as Stripped-Gaga, except wearing skin-toned lingerie. Her natural hair is used.
The main image that comes to my mind when visualizing a video for “Do What U Want” is Statue-Gaga, posing in a dim warehouse filled with a bunch of newspapers and computers with negative headlines about her. Once the music starts, a mash-up of headlines are projected on Statue-Gaga (similar to the American Music Awards performance), and she starts doing her little faux-walking-choreography from the X-Factor UK/SNL performances. This scene is intercut with Stripped-Gaga in a simple white room, performing the song on a white piano. During the first chorus, Statue-Gaga begins to destroy/throw around some of the papers/computers, while Stripped-Gaga gets aggresive while playing the piano, maybe even to the point of throwing it over.
During R. Kelly’s verse, him and Stripped-Gaga begin to dance along to the song while also simulating sexual positions (as seen in the BTS photos released). When R. Kelly finishes his verse singing “we don’t give a ****”, Statue-Gaga uses a match to light a bunch of the newspapers on fire, and continues her destruction. The second chorus would be mainly filled with Stripped-Gaga and R. Kelly grooving and singing to the song, while Koons-Gaga is shown against a white background, on something like a pedestal, posing next to a Gazing ball.
During the bridge, we would see Nude-Gaga in an entirely black room, where the floor is filled with ink. She’s kneeling with her hands on the ground, and her face down. When she starts singing, she lifts her hands and starts to feel her body, spreading ink on herself. While she’s singing, she looks as if she’s having a breakdown, pounding her fist on the ground in pure anger, and as she sings “so just take my body, and don’t stop the party”, she just starts going wild, splashing ink everywhere and basically doing the movements she did when she fell on the piano during the X-Factor UK performance. During the final chorus, scenes of Statue-Gaga destroying magazines and computers, Stripped-Gaga and R. Kelly dancing, Koons Gaga posing, and Nude-Gaga expressing her anger and cut together and shown. As she sings “what you want with my body, world” for the first time, Koons-Gaga slips into the pose done on the ARTPOP album cover (like she does during the artRAVE performance of the song). As the song fades away, each Gaga is shown in their respective scene, as “do what u want” is painted on the wall.
I feel if there was a video, if wouldn't need to be very big and extravagant. Just Gaga stripped back, showing her anger at the whole entertainment/tabloid industry.
Sounds cool! Too bad at this point we're not even getting a lyric video
Actually you should post this on LM.com, they like creativity over there Especially since monsters are serving way more creativity than Gaga haself atm
The fact that she's postign her pictures on LM.com, tags tchem #ARTPOP and still refuses to do anything related to promotion or give any kind of info, it's just...

GUY is too good to be wasted. I think it would do well. With the right video it could be a summer hit. And if it has a video I hope Gaga doesnt ruin it like she did with Alejandro. Yes, an EP would be good. If she thinks she has a materal that is strong enough then release an EP, if not write one for a couple of months like she did with TFM and come back hard to show the lessors how its done
It's not even like Born This Way wasn't critically acclaimed. It has the same metacritic score as The Fame and would be even higher if the 0 troll review didn't make it in. Might even be close to The Fame Monster.
I'll never get why people thought that era was a flop when the album sold over 8 million and her tour was almost consistently sold out. Not to mention one of the highest grossing celeb fragrance lines ever. She was rolling in the deep.
G.U.Y. is too good to be wasted but it HAS to be released during later this year (May/June) for it to be have a chance to smash. So ofc we're going to need a 3rd single to fill in these next few months.

Mmmm it has the same metacritic score sure. But thats only looking at it from the surface. Most of the reviews of Born This Way were kind of backhanded, on one hand saying they respected how committed she was to her over the top concept while simultaneously blasting its faults. And there was overall a pretty negative reception of it from the public. As well as taking into account the type of critiques that make up metacritic scores, some being intelligent others being lame bloggers putting in their bias two cents.
So I really wouldn't call Born This Way critically acclaimed at all, however I don't think the era was a flop. It was polarizing but her presence was at least undeniable.

Gypsy (HATE it, but w/e) -> G.U.Y. -> end era
I kinda want her to pull an Ellie Goulding and save her era/carreer like she did
Gypsy->G.U.Y.->Cling to an easy feature hit (I Need Your Love) ->Brand new super radio friendly single that still has her stamp (Burn)->Re-release with potential hit after the other (Halcyon Days)

Metacritic is generally pretty picky. I'm rather shocked that that 0 rating made it in considering how choosy and careful they are with other categories like film. Now - I am looking at this from today's standpoint since I didn't follow the pop scene back then. To me, it's easily her most daring and most experimental. I could never associate that album and flop at the same time.

Truth is, this could work
She could release the feature around the same time as G.U.Y. (Kinda like Burn was kinda slaying w/ I Need Your Love) then release the new single in Sept. and release a EP (not artpop:vol 2, different title) in NOV. Ofc this is all if she starts recording now.
Problems are,
1. What would she feature on? a will.i.am song?
2. WILL THE MUSIC BE GOOD? Can she still deliver in such a sort time?

After Fashion!, I wouldn't mind that at all. They work well together.

You're overestimating metacritic. Not every critique that gets lumped into their scores is very respectable. That being said not every critique is very respectable.
You didn't follow the pop scene back then so you apparently aren't aware of the general reception it received at the time. To you it may be her most respectable but we're talking about it being critically acclaimed and its not.
Sounds cool! Too bad at this point we're not even getting a lyric video

Hmm, I feel like maybe I should wait and make some sketches of how i think it should look, but idk. Lemme post it now before I forget.
