She was supposed to be under rain/water falling when she was on the rotating platform by herself but there was a technical issue and it didn't work. If you re-watch the performance, you can see the drains in the floor surrounding her.

The thing that gets me about some of the criticism I am reading from some -- especially the ones that have been droning on and on for years about her performances being over the top and over choreographed and predictable -- complaining now that she does something really atypical from her usual mid-uptempo performances with dancers and extras. She finally does a seriously different performance for her and they're still not satisfied. It just really goes to show that certain people will never be happy or give her credit with whatever she does. You really have to learn to disregard a lot of criticism directed at her because a lot of it is just noise from dedicated haters.

I love how all of us are so strongly opinionated in different ways about the performance!

As much as it wasn't her best performance, it was pretty great and I'm gonna be watching on repeat for awhile lol the opening and when the camera panned around the platform >>>

Also, I love how she sings the "Eat the cake, Anna Mae" part with Jay because she knows it's controversial (or maybe I'm over analyzing but whatever lol)

Ultimately, a performance can still be entertaining even if the artist does lipsync. What she shouldn't have done is sit back down on that chair after she sings the chorus. People were literally watching her rap while sitting on a chair. That's not good... lol

The reason I keep harping on this is because it starts out sort of iconic






And her body looked amazing and I loved the costume



But this was not it for me and it mainly has to do with how little she did, vocally and dance-wise..

No you sit down sis. I never said it was bad/terrible. You all know that was far from her best, I am fine with that cause no-one perfect, so I can't expect her to be, I can't expect all her performance to be nothing but iconic. This isn't beyhive.com were people can't have different opinion. everybody is entitled to a opinion and entitle to say them, and should not be drag for it, especially in here since we all love her. I don't problem with her performance just have problem with her lip synch, as far we know and from what I see, she had to excuse to lip synch. She probably doing some remix or other projects (like soundtrack or something) far to early for new album

Maybe she's recording songs for the deluxe edition. It would be pretty great if we got a re-release. But it's possible that it's just for the Dream's next project or for someone else.

I LOVED her performance. It was certainly left-field from what we expect from her but I mean, isn't that what BEYONCÉ is kind of about?

Ya I think if she wants this era to last long-term she needs to do a re-release. I know it's a bit selfish to want more after 17 music videos, but most eras have videos ever 3-4 months so you have more to look forward to, and I kind of want more in this situation too. Even if it was 2 songs + (bonus) Standing on the Sun.

Hey guys, i posted this in the P!nk vs Bey thread And i wanted to share it with you all - my opinion
I think they both delivered.

And i think ATRL has HIGH expectations from them
I mean look some singers get praised when they don't do nothing special and just stay on key. Bey and P!nk are so far from that. People don't even praise their vocals even when they are doing things that makes singing difficult. I think people forget how difficult it must be to sing while doing what they do. They have both kind of spoiled us with their performances and now the bar is set to high for them, sometimes even for themselves..
Both delivered, maybe not what expected, but fact is, they are still the best performers with the best stamina.
