What's your favourite indie game? It can be on an system of any genre.

I have a couple;

Scaler was released for PS2, X-Box and Gamecube in 2004.
Imagine if you put Ratchet & Clank, Rayman 2 & Super Mario Galaxy together.




& Cheesy was a PS1 game I loved to bits.

Indie games are made by individual publishers Rather than ones like Sony or UbiSoft, Nintendo etc.

Not games that are "indie" and aren't mainstream

"Indie Games" are usually classified by how big the developer is and the size of the release.

So "Cheesy" was a game for PlayStation 1 which was developed by a small development company called Ocean. It wasn't made by a big developer and it was a small team of people working behind it. It had a very small release and didn't even make it to the US.

"Scaler" the other game I posted, is another game that was developed by A2M but it was made by a small underground section of the company.
It had two publishers, but sadly they couldn't afford a third for the game to go to Asia.

If Postal 2 was made by a small group of people (or one person) and has a very small release it's usually described as "indie".

Nowadays, people associate "Indie games" as games that flopped

Liero Xtreme was created in C++ by Jason 'JasonB' Boettcher, an Australian programmer.

One person made the game, so yes Plus an Australian made it so it must be good

When I get some iTunes credit, I will get this. I remember playing Slender without knowing what it was. All people told me was to "play it in the dark" and I thought they meant because it was easier to see. Yeah nooooooo

I just know a lot of indie games because I often look for them. That's not saying that I hate games from Sony etc. because I don't. It's just good ideas come from smaller developers at times.

I mean people who drooled over Mario Galaxy I don't understand, because I was playing games on PS1, PC, N64, Sega etc. that did what Mario Galaxy does and executes them better.

MG is still a good game, but it brought nothing new to the table. It was just a major manufacture using ideas that had been around for 10 years to a major franchise. Big whoop.

I grew up playing ps2, LOTS and LOTS of ps2. I have so many games but I don't even know the name of it. I remember I played Taxi? Not sure if that's an indie game.
I played lots of ddr and tekken but I think namco isn't a small company.
Have you heard of zoombinis? OH AND METAL SLUG.
