Rihanna was my first favorite pop star (Lord wasn't a pop star) and I remember being pressed that TFM and Rated R came out the same week because I was scared Gaga would block Rihanna on the charts. That was back before I had a twitter or even knew that the term "stan" existed.

During the Fame era (I was like 14), my friend would tell me stories about how Gaga would take her clothes off on stage because people "weren't paying attention to her" and he told me about songs like "Shake Your Kitty" and I was very sheltered and repulsed by her but then I ended up stanning for her after Paparazzi and Bad Romance and Speechless.
The first time I started stanning was probably for Daughtry I remember voting constantly on VH1. Most of my favs I couldn't stan for cause I didn't know about sites like this at the time.
