Damn, fell asleep after school for the first time in weeks. I've always been going to bed somewhat late but I'll usually (somehow) manage to stay up and face my tiredness. I only passed out for about 2 hours or so, but oh well. At least I have no homework tonight so there's nothing to worry about.. tho I still have the threat of having to present tomorrow. There's about 30-36 people in our class and we're in pairs for this project (so at least 15 pairs minimum) and she expects us to finish today yet only 4 pairs went yesterday cuz they took up so much time, fff.. well at least most of them. Hopefully the same happens tomorrow so we won't have to go and can save it for Friday. Presentations are probably the worst thing about school for me. Or at least curriculum-wise.

Off I go tonight with drink with a bunch of guys. I haven't drank in ages and although they're my friends, I know how the straights act when going out and I feel I won't fit the mold.

I could't stand oral presentations. If I was in a group I'd let them do all the talking and just stand there mute. I remember one time we had to do a solo presentation in front of the class for science, and I dreaded it so much that I kept "forgetting" to bring it in and on the last day I just stayed home

I would, but our teacher is extra strict about presentations and we all have to do equal talking and question answering ( ). But damn, you have EXTRA anxiety over presentations. I get extremely nervous and start shaking and saying "um" a lot when I present, but I can still do it (and regret it, but at least I'll get the grade.) I've never had that bad of a presentation, none of them have been outstanding but nothing too embarrassing. But yeah, I just don't understand why there's so many needed in High School. Why can't we just do a project to do a project and not present what we have? It's not that necessary.

I would be okay for 5 seconds, but then I'd turn bright red and my voice would literally start shaking and I'd get out of breath because I realized everyone in the class was focused solely on me. I can't stand attention on me like that Hallelujah to the day I graduated High School. I think they should really spend more time on teaching teachers how to properly deal with students that have social anxiety, I was forced to do things like that so many times and it'd make me not even want to go to school just to avoid it.

I remember one time we had to share a story in class and I took a different approach and made it a poem and was going to take the 20% off my grade for it by not sharing because I didn't want to share it and have everyone see I made my story different but the teacher ended up making it required we all had to share and it was the most embarrassing 5 minutes

Same. I hate attention in general so having everyone paying attention to me is very nerve wracking, even if it's for small presentation assignments that are only like, two minutes long or something (we have some of those, too, even more pointless. ) And yeah, I have total social anxiety and I always fear the days where presentations are going to start. I always get nervous even before I enter the damn class... it sucks that we have to go through those things. I know it's supposed to better our skills, but I've done maybeeee 25 or more presentations in my whole life at this point and I'm still at the same skill set. Nervous, shaking, not that great, I can talk and read faster than before but that's all I've improved on.

I remember I shared a story about ToonTown back in 5th grade but it was actually pretty decent from what I remember, plus it's 5th grade so nobody really cares. I wasn't really too scared about it back then, but yeah. Recently there was a project where we had to share our business plans and they're like, 9 damn pages long and I wasn't about to read through that. Especially since I don't know a lot about business and mine was a computer company and I wasn't sure if it was all realistic or accurate sounding. There were 3 parts to it: completing it, paying attention to other presentations and presenting. So I just decided not to present so that was a whole 100 points off.. but it was fine since I ended up with an A-, 90% in the class.

See this is what I'm talking about. How will embarrassing a student in front of their peers do any damn thing to help them? It just makes people not want to participate or even try.

We had to do a VIDEO presentation for english class once, as in they made us go to a small room in the library, sit in front of a camera, read our multiple page report, and then they would show the video to the entire class at a later date while you had to just sit there and watch yourself presenting on TV. Like I know I'm awkward but you're going to preserve my awkwardness on tape and make ME watch it? Oh hell no.

NOPE!!! NOPE!!!!!!!!!!11111
I wouldn't be able to do that. I'd skip the hell out. Nope and nope and, oh right, how about NO. I'm so glad I haven't had an assignment like that yet... I've heard plenty of people having to do video-related projects and yeah, I would just bail out of that one quick and accept tha F. Unless if I could just have it not be presented to the class but the teacher could still watch it, then I guess I'd do it.

I don't even understand the point of something like that. What benefit could possibly come from taping the presentations and then forcing you to watch it alongside everyone else in the class? Even if it would only be shown to the teacher I still don't understand the point. I'm pretty sure I didn't look up at the camera one single time when I was doing it and just looked straight down at my lap where the paper was. And then I got points taken off for not making eye contact with the audience but whatever, I don't have any desire to be on TV so I'm not even going to try.
Like I said, so glad I graduated already.
