NOT people in here acting like some itunes banners and some word of mouth count as "plenty" of promo compared to interviews, radio premieres, live performances, television appearances, etc. 
Promo is having two different commercials play every other half hour on TV featuring you and your music and you taking over freaking Jimmy Fallon's show for a week. THAT is promo, not sitting on your butt releasing some 5 minute YouTube videos every few days and putting up some itunes banners.

That has more to do with Britney though. The interest in Britney is at an all time low. Even if she did the same deal as Beyonce did, i don't think she would've got the same reaction as Beyonce did.

Just because the gp CARES about Beyonce doesn't mean she had more effective promo. She slayed with just word of mouth and minimal promo.

Beyonce is slaying. It's a fact. But 6 banners on iTunes can be considered promo. We're talking about promo, i didn't say 'She's selling because she had banners', you can't say there's only 1 reason why the album is selling. There are different reasons, the quality, the singles, the promo, star power, etc.
It's the same for every artist. Some artists promote everywhere and sell 100k and other artists do little promo but sell 500k.

People talking about BEYONCÉ while she's on vacation doesn't mean it's promo. It just means people know that she has an album.
After she showcases her album on tv with a performance or does tv or radio interviews talking about the album, then you can say she promoted the album.
And it's not like we are the only one saying she hasn't done any promo, all the media outlets are too.
I can't wait for next week, so we won't have this discussion again but until then remain pressed.

I think Frozen will end up going platinum. It will get a boost after the Oscar performance and another one when they release the DVD

The point of promoting and album is to get people hyped.
Beyonce had hype but she didnt need promo to create it. Which is very impressive.
