I had no idea she was nominated 6 times. If Amy doesn't win this year I think she has a good chance of beating her

I'm rooting for Karen O (The Moon Song) to win Best Song, although I know it will not happen
And Lupita, she was so damn good and I'm not here for Jennifer circlejerk (sorry, I like her but it's too much).

I don't think it should win either but for some reason I wouldn't mind it that much. Not as much as Argo.

I don't think American Hustle is going to win the Oscar. Still going with 12 Years a Slave. The Producer's Guild will be very telling.

For some reason I think Supporting Actress will be telling of what will win Best Picture. If Lawrence wins (and O Russell wins Director) then I think AH will win, if Lupita wins I think 12 Years could.

I still think 12YAS is taking BP and Cuarón BD, but the last time it was split was when Crash won, wasn't it?

last time was last year. Ang Lee for Director (Ben Affleck wasn't even nominated, one of the shockers last year ) and Argo won BP. Still don't get that Affleck snub but whatever...

People assumed he and Bigelow were safe and left him off their ballots or their number 1 spots. The director's branch is a bit more interesting in regards to who they choose. Haneke and Zetlin were inspired choices though.

Amy Adams isn't going to win again Cate has all the momentum now, I love Cate too though at least, just feel bad for Amy, gonna become the female Leo

Her legacy is real though. I don't think anyone has gotten five Oscar nominations as fast as she has - she didn't even start acting at all until 1999! And to think she was snubbed for her charming performance in Enchanted. She is the opposite of Leo. The Academy LOVES her and will nominate her for practically anything. Whereas Leo has to prove himself and be his absolute very best.
Both are amazing queens.

Oh yeah, I know that, but in that case, as you said, Affleck wasn't nominated. This year, all three frontrunners for BP (12YAS, Gravity and AH) are also the frontrunners for BD. My question is, when was the last time there was a split where both director and picture were nominated. Crash/Brokeback is what comes to mind. Other than that, there's not been split over the last years. Usually BP and BD go hand in hand.

Keep in mind Wolf of Wall Street wasn't screened at that time. Very few had seen it.

Directors can't be nominated for SAG, only actors.
