When I read the thread in celebria this morning, I was genuinely shocked. Liam seems like he's the nicest guy, accepting of anyone. I don't quite know where I stand, and I feel like after this comment I'm stepping away from the discussion because no one will ever come to an agreement.

The 'family values' portion of the original tweet was pretty surprising. I completely understand how people have interpreted that comment in a homophobic manner, and I'm very disappointed in Liam for being stupid enough to tweet that comment in the first place. Even if he's genuinely not a homophobe, it's an easy set up and can be misinterpreted so easily that he should just know better. Liam has never been the sharpest tool in the shed, but come on.

Also, we're talking about Liam's twitter. It's completely plausible that he chose the wrong words to express what he meant, with genuinely no ill intent behind them. There's a little part of me that thinks this may be the case, but after stepping back from the discussion and having some time to think about it, I'm extremely doubtful.

I don't hate Liam, I'm just extremely disappointed in him. Especially now that I'm seeing his meltdown due to "being a fan of a show". He's always been vocal about his frustrations but this is most definitely not the time for it. What a dark day for the Liam stans.

Now, I don't condone homophobia and I do hate when Liam gets himself into messes like these due to twitter, but y'all seriously make it seem like you're just waiting for Liam to slip up in the slightest so you have an excuse to shade him. I'm a bisexual girl myself and I had no idea about all of this DD ordeal till today and I may be not as affected by it. I live with my bf ATM but I do have tons of tons of bi/gay friends. It was one of them who brought all of this to my attention actually and you know what he said? "These queens swear as if his tweet/opinion will keep us from marrying/obtaining equal rights."

As for the scum ignoramuses in this thread: You are all complaining about Liam's misconstrued tweet (yes, a tweet - let that sink in) when there are celebs like Justin Bieber and Miley. I am highly disappointed at the fact the members from this base are dragging one of the boys due to stupid assumptions.

Now educate yourselves while this scandal lasts a few more hours and Ziam remains unbothered while King Liam gets some press out of this mess.
