In terms of vocal, Lana is a better vocalist period. Lorde CAN NOT sing. Lorde is not a better performer than Lana. So please go watch some live performances.

In the mainstream world maybe, but overall Lorde is not more respected than Lana, she's more criticized.

Ofc Lorde is more respected. The Grammys will prove that in about week when Lorde, who is 17 yrs old, walks away with 2 Grammys and Lana, who is 27 yrs old, goes home empty handed.

Lana is a classic artist, she'll still be around in 10, 20 years from now while Lorde is way too 'now' and will be easily forgotten.
'Born To Die' the album alone should be enough to tell you that tbh.
You won't remember a persona like Lorde in 10 years from now like who are you kidding? 
Lana on the other hand WILL be remembered because she's simply way more mysterious than Lorde is.
I mean, that is also the reason why the GP didn't gave her a free pass, many of my friends felt weird looking and listening to her because of the weird background so that's probably why Lorde is easier to listen to because she looks like a normal teenager of the moment and has the same opinions but that doesn't mean that she will last.
But like I said, Lorde's a thing of the present while Lana is creating her own lane, much like Florence and The Machine who's done the same for years now.
These kind of artists don't have any competition.

Maybe David Bowie was a little exaggerating, when he said to her she writes the music of tomorrow but more in the same way like that journalist who wrote 35 years ago that Bruce Springsteen is the future of rock.
For me there is no doubt that she will have for the next 10 years the most album sales next to Adele and Taylor Swift at least in the US.
For Lana, I predict a great Ultraviolence album with a North America tour, but then she will make less, getting a baby, producing, writing for other artists, film scores, something like Linda Perry.
It's absolutely hilarious what some people here are thinking.
PS: you mentioned Florence, if I recall right, Florence praised Lorde and Lana.
