LOL this is certainly interesting - First I guess I'm in the minority here when I say Asylum is much better than Cover, and now when I actually thought last night's episode was one of the best of the season, most members believe it was just okay.
Evan Peters has been underused throughout this season.

I thought Coven was going to be best season, but apparently, its going nowhere for 4-5 episodes. People just want to be the supreme, they die, come back to life, over and over again.
Worst season imo.
Asylum and Murder House went somewhere with their character developments and storylines.

BUT, what I don't like is the lack of character development. Madison dying and Myrtle's burning were some of the best moments of the show's history, and they just get undone. Queenie leaves? Don't worry, she's back. Delphine's head's off? NOPE. Cordelia's blind? Not for long. And then not for long again. Everything that happens just gets undone.

! It feels directionless.

Coven is a disaster. I don't get how anyone could say it's the best season. it's the worst, by faaaaaaaaaaaar. no character development, a stagnant plot (it's literally never changed). there is NOTHING good about this season, which is a shame, since it had sooooo much potential--especially in the first two episodes.

I feel like everyone is bandwagoning just a biT with this "it goes nowhere" thing. Asylum was all over the place even more. It had way more separate stories and a lot of stuff was happening at once. It's just the way AHS is girls.

The cast is superb, the plot is AMAZING. So, what do you expect, everything to be perfectly fine so we can await for the next Supreme? Jesus, of course Fiona will be trying to stay on top. This is not really a happily ever after typo of series. Of course, there will be murders of witches, etc.
This season deserves an A+. The last two episodes will be the ****! Jessica and Angela are DELIVERING.

It's clearly the best season of the three
In no way is the show perfect... but entertainment wise it's been the best.

Asylum WAS all over the place but the plot and characters actually developed. Nothing happens in Coven.

In my opinion, Asylum had a much more interesting plot, but in terms of story development its on par with Coven. I noticed that both seasons started really strong but the last couple of episodes were lacking. Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson had more to work on with their characters on Asylum resulting in more interesting performance. I think Murder House remains the best season.

Asylum was also WAY out there as well .. I mean the black angel... Aliens .. All the seperate stories .. I feel as tho coven is more concrete

People are complaining because Coven is nothing like the previous two seasons. The mood, the setting, the genre, the revelations, etc. are all different, but hey: that's the way AHS is and always has been.
Coven is nothing like Asylum, and Asylum was nothing like Murder House. Which doesn't mean any of them is weak.
tho I think Asylum > Murder House > Coven

Agreed. I don't know what more progression they could want. Especially when people bring Asylum in as evidence of progression - it makes no sense at all.

Asylum was a mess but at least we had a character to root for - Lana Winters. Her character was brilliant (Thanks, Sarah Paulson) and even though there were too many things going on, it was the ultimate feeling of the title - an Asylum. It felt crazy. I don't think it was supposed to feel "right". Asylum main story focused on Lana's escape from the Asylum, while Coven's main story is who is going to be the next Supreme, which really isn't that interesting anymore.

But at this point in Asylum, everything had pretty much been wrapped up leaving Bloodyface/Lana as the main storyline. Everything that happened on Coven, like countless have said before, has been undone for no reason. And I can;t at the fact that they're JUST NOW getting into Delphine. She was by far the biggest waste this season.

How come? We get the introduction of characters in the Coven, the murder of those frat boys happens, the whole Delphine LaLaurie thing happens, we meet the voodoo queen, there's the bit about Cordelia wanting a child, we learn about Hank a bit more and how he kills witches, we learn about the witch council and Myrtle Snow and more about Fiona's past and whatnot, Myrtle gets burned, Madison dies, everyone starts coming back to life, the whole part about Kyle's mom, Misty's swamp dancing, Axeman, Cordelia getting blinded, the whole part about Luke and his mom including his death and her death and ressurection, Hank's shooting in the hair salon, Marie becoming an ally, Queenie dying for a bit, Papa Legba, Nan dying and the new episode.
When you look at it from episode 1 stuff actually DOES happen and characters do develop.
Quite a lot of them changed their personality, some became badass, some became weak, Myrtle is completely different since she died, Zoe did change as well, Queenie showed how much she changed in this episode and I could go on forever.
It's because we're watching the season right now and every episode that doesn't have some huge plot twists seems underwhelming, but if you were to sit down and watch all of the episodes you would see that it's a good season.

How anyone could think Murder House is the best is beyond me. The characters were so annoying I literally didn't care about any of them. It was boring too. I watched it and didn't want to continue the series until my friends convinced me that Asylum was a lot better.

At this point last season, Lana had already escaped Briarcliffe and killed Bloodyface.
This season just doesn't even compare.

All of the bolded happened in the first few episodes. And everything else is just stuff that they've reversed since, like Cordelia going blind, Queenie dying etc. All pointless plot twists that added nothing to the overall plot.
Hardly any of the characters have developed, especially compared to Asylum and MH.

unfinished/unresolved/random story lines:
Kyle, the witch council, cordelia trying to have a baby, the creepy butler and his dolls, the neighbour with the son, Misty, the witch hunters, the next supreme, the ax man, delphine torturing people, the minotaur, the feud between the witches, the zombies, queenie changing sides, fiona getting cancer, the zoe madison kyle love triangle, papa legba, stevie nicks.
and theyre only the ones i can think of

In my opinion Murder House was a good season, but nothing special. Asylum truly is the highlight of the three seasons, but Coven is definitely the second one in comparison.
Murder House was a good introduction to the show, as I've stated. It felt a little bit basic, but it was coherent, it had a nice story line and it did what it had to do. Introduce people to the way AHS is going to be, messed up.

Right? It was so much more cohesive and organised, despite the fact that there were more side plots in Asylum than in Coven. Asylum and even MH put Coven to shame

I bet loads of them won't even get closed by the end. The worst one for me is the neighbours, both of them have died so it's 99% probable that that storyline's over now and they literally did nothing for the show. At all. So pointless
