But he was still giving people what they "wanted". The latter Escape singles like 'Love To See You Cry', the reworked version of 'Maybe' (
making it sound just like 'Hero'), 'Addicted', 'Not In Love', 'Somebody's Me' and 'Tired Of Being Sorry' were all ballads and mid tempo Spanish guitar based tracks - none of them did that well
If the general public were aware at all of those albums they'd think he'd stuck with the sound he had when he first recorded in English. The belief is definitely out there that he was a mostly a balladeer, latin singer until around 2010 when he was corrupted by rappers and made complete dance-pop music. If they believe that they obviously never bought those albums and they obviously didn't buy the singles either otherwise they'd have been chart hits.
I think that there's a lot of people out there that liked his previous style but not enough to ever buy it. I personally believe these are the first to moan loudly about this mythical "old Enrique"

When I googled this tour I found one video and 2 photos, no setlist, no dates, no fan reviews or press ones. I remember that the tour existed, but how many dates it had? 10? Everything he did to promote was kinda 'cheap" It's not the best word, but it's the only one which comes to my mind

While I do believe the Insomniac era to be a mixed bag the tour was a pretty extensive arena tour with a good production for the time. Twenty plus arena dates in Europe a few more outside of the EU it was even supposed to be a DVD filmed at the Odyssey Arena Ireland. You can see the abridged TV version here

I'm not sure what you expect out of Enrique promotional tour. He was never the kind of artist that was a regular at the VMAs or The Grammys etc. He was getting to that level when his sales complete had a sharp drop with Seven.
He promoted Insomniac in the US on things like Dancing With The Stars, Ellen Degeneres, So You Think You Can Dance, How I Met Your Mother to name a few - all pretty big shows. He also had the biggest radio tour he's done specificaly for 'Somebody's Me'.
In the UK he perfomed on Graham Norton, The Royal Variety Performance, he also performed twice on the very popular at the time Paul O'Grady show - again pretty good spots.
I can't speak for the rest of the world but I'm aware of Wetten Dass is considered good promo in Germany and Enrique was on special edition of thar show and his duet with Nadiya got him what seemed to be plum TV spots in France.

I know, it's just another song which never happend, and even tho 2013's songs have been officially released as singles I don't see them being on the album. There were enough albums cancelled in history of pop music, because of low commercial performace of singles. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a success stan, but the Insomniac songs were good even though they flopped. These were doing even worse commercialy and I just don't like them (excluding Loco and HA).

If we're talking worldwide then his current era singles arn't flopping by virtue of the fact they're not being released which supports the idea that these are really just to give a buildup like Enrique suggested from the jump.
True the English ones aint doing too well in the country they are being released but all but one have had practicaly zilch to push it. Compare it with the Insomniac singles particularly 'Somebody's Me' which did have a huge push in the US and didn't make the Hot 100 at all. I don't see how you could say the they did better.
I think there isn't much of a chance of the album being cancelled. They seem to following through on their strategy, they obviously have faith in it. At least you can say you like half of the singles although you haven't said if you like 'El Perdedor' or not.
Well it's true.

BTW, is there an Enrique base thread?

Probably. It might be worth searching for it but as you may tell my opinions are fairly unique (and long winded) so I don't think they'd be especially welcome
