I think ARTPOP did its job, in terms of Gaga's presence on the GP. She was almost re-introduced to them again. I remember seeing on twitter people were asking " what happend to Lady Gaga" "is she dead?" So at least there's some positives out if this era

I still can't believe she had us go 2 1/2 years without new material and we didn't even know something was coming until July of 2013. I mean I know I couldn't have been the only one worried that it was going to be delayed until 2014 after we were being told a summer release. I bet the original tracks on ARTPOP Brooklyn Nights, Temple, and Tea would have slayed but she had the album too long and tweaked it too much. Too much of a perfectionist.
