I didn't confuse anything. I responded to your post about the NYE performance in one line and in the next line, I posted about the next single. It's two different thoughts. You don't need to post multiple times for separate ideas.

As for Priyanka deserving $900K for dancing, I don't think anybody deserves that much money to lip synch to other people's songs. When is she going to perform her own songs? She's yet to sing live even though she promised us she would in 2013. It never happened. Why? She's a singer now.

Finally, I definitely don't think Priyanka knows when the right time to release anything is. She's not familiar with the music industry. If she were, she would never release weak songs like "In My City" or "Exotic," which sounds like a song from 2012. Also, she said originally that song would come out in November. Then it changed to December, then January and now February.

I saw enough and I've seen other "performances." She was lip synching to Hindi movie songs. Again, I don't feel anyone should be paid to do that. I would never pay to watch actors walk around (and dance poorly) and lip synch to songs sung by others.

"Exotic" was not successful anywhere except India, which is not even a major music market. Also, 25.5 million views in less than 6 months is nothing impressive. Lorde and Zendaya are new artists and their first music videos both have many more views in less than 6 months. Please stop being delusional. It's embarrassing.

Exactly. Hindi movies are obviously her priority since she's a big Bollywood star and she can't afford to turn down movies, especially at her age. Unfortunately, the singing career is taking a back seat because of this. You can't just release a cheap song and a music video and expect for people to be interested. It takes months to promote songs.

I also think Jimmy Iovine and Interscope don't actually care and they see this as an opportunity to expand Interscope and Geffen into India. The only person who seems interested in this project is Anjula Acharia-Bath since she started it. I was watching an interview WSJ did with her and she said she grew up in the UK taking Indian food to eat for lunch in school and the other students used to make fun of her food, her name, her clothes, etc. She said she used to turn on the TV and never see a South Asian person (even though the UK is full of them) and it's been her dream to launch an Indian celebrity.

Yeah, I found Anjula's dream endearing. It would nice to see a South Asian make it big internationally. I think Priyanka should have tried as an actor, but there are probably no roles for her in Hollywood. Look where Freida Pinto is.

I think what right now should be done is release something traditional ..She has been trying so hard to be kesha she forgot that Indian influence on western music has increased a lot ..I mean in the last year itself: come and get it , legendary lovers and video for bounce (Iggy) ..She should go back to her roots and not act like a try hard

It depends on how "traditional" you mean. I think the Hindi chorus in "Exotic" and the Indian-sounding strings in "In My City" were fine. The problem is that the songs have corny lyrics and sound like they're from 2011.

BTW, there's been Indian influence in pop music for a long time, but the problem is that Indian things are only popular here when they take the Indian out of it. Indians just aren't marketable here in the west. Before turning more pop, Jay Sean's first singles in 2003 were actually South Asian-influenced R&B songs (Bhangra like in "Dance With You" or old Bollywood song samples like in "Stolen") and they had little impact, but Beyonce ("Baby Boy") back then and Selena Gomez ("Come & Get It") today have seen plenty of success with similar sounds. I think most people are more receptive to Indian things when they're delivered by non-Indians or don't seem too Indian (Naughty Boy's "La La La") whether it's music or even fashion, food, spirituality, or even looks. Just look at how yoga and other eastern (what part of the east exactly?) meditation or medicine is often marketed as East Asian.

By traditional I meant use of Indian sounds not like bollywood stuff but Indian Folk music is. Indian Folk music is very diverse and goes beyond Bhangra. But to do this kind of stuff you need an artist, an artist who is dedicated to her/his craft not someone who was forced to sing on the first place itself

And also she had an opportunity to make a statement by music videos ..She just copy pasted the same old back up dancer, bikini scenes that you can see in any other pitbull video..

Selena Gomez and Rihanna aren't real artists either, but they work with good producers who are inspired by them and give them good material. Unfortunately, Priyanka isn't getting any good material except "Erase" and that's only because The Chainsmokers are unknowns who gave her a song they already made. And like you said, she doesn't seem dedicated enough (or educated enough about pop music) to get producers to create good material for her. Writers and producers need to be inspired. It's not some mechanical process.

Exactly. When the song first leaked, I thought about what the music video would look like; I imagined Pitbull's first verse with Priyanka speeding a car in some tropical location wearing a salwar kameez and when the chorus began, she could get out of the car and take the scarf off her neck, throw it behind her in the air and walk towards the camera pushing her hair back. Something like the purple one, but tighter and shorter:

The point is that you need something memorable like Jennifer Lopez's strut in "Love Don't Cost a Thing" or Beyonce's in "Crazy In Love." Instead, we got some poorly edited video with barely any dancing and bad choreography. The whole project seems like work that no one involved really cares about.
