Gurl bye. What a sad person you are. She's clearly going through a tough time right now and all you're doing is coming in here with your pathetic and stale drags about her sales. We got the memo long ago. ARTPOP is underperforming but it's not flopping nearly as hard as you queens try and say it is. Stop comparing Gaga's album to an album that came out over 5 years ago and get back to Katy's threads if all you care about is sales.
And yes...35k this week. Sales become drastically lower after Christmas week. This is common knowledge. Unlike Katy she didn't discount her album in time for Christmas.

She got what Stefani wanted, she got a record deal and sold tons of records while putting her art on front. Look at The Fame Monster and Born This Way.
She needs to calm down, her record label wants to make more money and her fans want her to be successful. Idk what's new, more media hate? She has always been hated to death by the media.
Just my opinion.

Let me copy my post from the locked thread over.
I hate how dry she can be. It's obvious the thing with her team was messier than we all know. She needs to sort herself out. I love her, but I almost can't stand her right now. This isn't the Gaga I stan for, something's up.
I hope she's not in drug trouble still. If she is I hope she's smart and takes the correct procedures and gets help.

Sis, "Do What U Want" is already a way bigger hit than "Piece Of Me", and without a video. "Do What U Want" debuted higher than "Piece Of Me" peaked, and until the video release, has every opportunity to still grow. Plus, "Piece Of Me" peaked at #28 on pop, while "Do What U Want" is at #8 and is still growing. Also, if ARTPOP is at ~600K, and is selling ~20-30K a week with little to no promo besides a song on the radio, it should definitely reach at least 900K. It's not gonna drop off the albums chart in 2 weeks.
If you're gonna say something is flopping, at least make sure you're actually right.

I knew she was obsessed with the charts but not to such extent to affect her like this. It makes me feel bad for dragging ARTPOP's floppage

Gaga can be very over dramatic at times, but she's my girl and I hope there is nothing serious going on.

You're right. It's an iconic smash. Universal is gonna build a 20-foot-tall platinum (lol) statue to commemorate its success.
Currently smashing at:
Austria: #54
Australia: #33
France: #65
Holland: #54
Spain: #43
Switzerand: #42
Oh, and it's off the chart in Denmark, Poland, Portugal, Germany.
You're right. it's gonna slay the IFPI in 2014!

Seems like she needs to just take a break from all this for a while.

The people who are saying it's about the chart performance of ARTPOP in the US during its first 10 weeks of release, it is not.
Gaga doesn't care about how much she sells. Of course she feels blessed and appreciated when her music is doing well, and actually, it's not even doing bad.
What is affecting her, however, are the fans talking about the sales and criticism of ARTPOP all the time and Gaga having a hard time with Interscope.
I can't know much, but I think that I am right.

In a harsh way, Gaga shouldn't have been so naive. She is well aware of this situation (i.e. "we will always love Britney")
I can understand what she's going through and I am somewhat sympathetic, but I'm not going to care more for her situation than I would anyone else. Gaga does have a chance to have her say, unlike hundreds of artists out there who have yet to have their big break. She's also spoke about Interscope being behind her and always respecting her art, yet now they're not (?). I don't know whether that's the case now, or whether she's actually taking the hate she's receiving and blaming everyone else.
We all said Interscope was forcing her to release Do What U Want over Venus and she said that wasn't true.. so?
|
And this. She seems upset that she doesn't get her way over everything, and it's strange considering she's been in the music industry long enough to know you can't always have your cake and eat it too, especially with major record labels. She's lucky that she even has creative freedom over her work, something that's usually not granted to pop stars. At the end it's a business, and you can't really fault her label for wanting her to go in a different direction since her way of doing things isn't working out so well as of late. Perhaps she should consider going independent if she wants to have full control with no outside interference, but she better be prepared to sacrifice big sales and superstardom if she cares that much about her art. Or learn to compromise a bit if she doesn't want to give up commercial success.

I think so too.
She's lucky she's not getting Madonna scale media hate like during Erotica. That could really mess you up.
