In all honesty i see it this way

Katy has 6 years in the industry
To be honest after IKAG i didnt expect to see katy again. With TD she asserted herself as a force in pop with easily the biggest singles eras of our time. The album sold well over 6 million and with this current era shes proving to be getting better each era. Prism is selling much faster than TD and roar is her biggest song yet. DH is vying to be her 9 number one hit and i think the prism era has more surprises. I think katy has 2 more massive eras to give us, shell settle have a kid then release her most innovative/explorative album yet to commercial success. Shell then experience that inevitable commercial slump all artists have eventually by then itll be maybe 2022-2024 and she wouldve had 15-16 years of a good career and inspired many new pop girls who look up to artists like she and rihanna etc.

Rihanna has 9 years in but i would say it wasnt really till UMBRELLA that rihanna became....RIHANNA. however rihanna has proved time and time again shes here to stay ive only been doubtful of katy but prism changed my mind.

Truthfully both still have lots to offer and like Whitney and Madonna, beyonce and britney i think katy and rih will be most remembered revered and reference girlsd of their generartion. :-)

What part of that relates to longevity? All you've done is proven that Rihanna has had a higher peak, none of that proves she'll have a longer career.

She doesn't need to. Even if GGGB sold 3M more albums TD sold what? 40M more singles than GGGB, the equivalent of 4M albums. And with GGGB Rihanna was nowhere to be seen in Forbes, while Katy was Top 10 in Forbes after TD and had 8 multi-platinum singles + TD outsold GGGB in the most relevant country (US).
