there are lots of great counters to talonflame but i like using teams that have my favorite pokémon. monsters that counter birdfire aren't on that list.

Eh, Umbreon and Tyty fill completely different niches though Umbreon's defensive stat spread + wish&heal bell make it a great cleric (for UU though, as Sylveon's typing outclasses ha).

True, Umbreon is a cleric. But both of them are also Special Walls and Tyranitar has a major advantage of not being a complete one trick-pony, unlike Umbreon.
