Have you used it against good players though? I think it can be successful mostly because of the surprise factor. You can easily send Scizor or Excadrill to threaten it, but I'm not entirely sure ...

The Psychic typing may have good Pokemon (I completely agree on that), but the metagame is just not kind on it atm. U-Turn (Genesect), Knock Off (Conk, Mandi, Bisharp, random stuff etc), the Dark and Ghost buff, Aegislash, priority (most are frail like Zam and Espeon), etc. They are flopping hard.
And right, the Umbreon stanning... the problem is not the typing (even though pure Dark is kinda meh), it's Umbreon itself. It can't do much on a team tbh and it's mostly outclassed by Tyranitar. But the Fairies actually help him. Fighting Pokemon are much less common now than they were last Gen.
) once for some reason (literally random) and they use ridiculous stuff like Landorus, Genesect, Manaphy, Aegi, Thundurus, Rotom-W, Deoxys, Garchomp, Pinsir, Mandi, Luc... and I get destroyed every now and then.
