So many people seem to be rather serious about this!
Any mod browsing, would someone with my warning-point track record want to step to the side early-on?
Ugh, I hate reading short applications. They give us nothing to work with and just makes us speed read through it. I just started, but hopefully, the applications get better as I continue to read on.
My experience was sort of like Mikal's - we both got deq for inactivity (the same reason my dear departed Elijah is no longer with us) - him in 2006, me in 2008. (College is hell!) I was 'reinstated' in 2009? So technically a decade, but technically technically eight years.
Which is still a helluva lot!
That's a long time ago! I can't believe I was in 4th grade back then.
Yeah, whether or not you're "known" isn't much of a big deal. Obviously it helps if people on the team are already familiar with you. But still, there are going to be so many generic applications that if yours is good and stands out, we definitely won't overlook you.

Good luck!
That makes me remember when Phoenetic and freaksgeeeks became mods. It was the first time ever I saw their names around ATRL.
