Yeah, she wasn't really anywhere during album launch week. It was almost as if she only came out of hiding to do Saturday Night Live, and that's it.

Yeah, I agree. Nothing on ARTPOP really screams smash to me. Do What U Want had the best chances, but I knew, with her, anything could go wrong. And boy, did it. For there to still be no mention of a video.

She doesn't need her old tracks she needs to listen to the people who helped her get to where she is now. She needs to learn to admit defeat and accept that she can't do it on her own

I agree. Like no one would take her seriously if she said in an interview ARTPOP wasn't as good as her past material, so obviously she has to hype it to be better than the rest. I think she knows she can write better songs.

She shouldn't be telling people how good or bad the album is In general. Mistake from 2011 you'd think she'd learn by now

THIS is what i've been trying to say in the past few pages.. I agree with everyone that ARTPOP has less HIT potential than old material (not worse quality though). But that doesn't mean she's incapable of recreating hit potential with new material. It comes down with who she's working with. So if she were to go as far as to considering releasing old material for the sake of hits, she'd obviously be willing to consider getting in the studio with hit makers - like Bey's producers or Rih's producers or Katy's etc. Of the two options, the latter is far more appealing to me as a fan and I'm sure her as an artist

more than anything I doubt she'd take it upon herself to make big changes, but hopefully interscope tries to crack down on her (again), but this time she may actually comply & listen instead of act out (Venus, Dope)

I have to say one thing, she really did learn a lot from BTW.. she didn't hype AS MUCH. she TRIED to let the music speak for itself (at first). she tried to go for a more fun care free album. she stepped up her visuals to be more appealing than BTW. hopefully she'll learn just as much from ARTPOP

I mean her art is just annoying nobody is here for it and her sales show that. We know what she's capable of doing with great people by her side. We also see what she makes with the WROG people by her and when she's calling the shots and evidently she chose to be arrogant and look where that landed her. Shame I had high ass hopes for this era and it's a diaster

No she didn't let the music speak for itself she hyped ARTPOP just not as much. I mean remember when she came for Carly Rae? Calling it TFM's techno raver little sister? I mean come on she literally is her own worst enemy

but I mean she did try. i remember in a Z100 interview she said that she was TRYING to do that. that was her intention. and to her credit there was a LOT less marketing than for BTW. but still i agree she could've done a lot better with it

but as for comparing it to TFM, yes she shouldn't have done that, but in the end I don't think she was wrong. I personally like ARTPOP more and I agree it is like an electronic sister to the EP

That's why I sometimes feel bad cause she does work so hard and does try extraordinarily hard but it's so frustrating sometimes

That won't change until her focus on infusing art and pop takes a backseat and she looks at other concepts that aren't so offputting. She actually did infuse art and pop more with The Fame and The Fame Monster concepts and there was much clearer vision back then. Of course, that was before she broke it off with Fusari, Boomkack and Troy, but you know...
