Don't come for me when you have Florence-Spectrum-Say-My-Name-Sweet-Nothing-Welch in your signature.
Calvin Harris and Zedd, Zedd especially, are two of the less generic DJs out there. Just because Zedd's track Clarity blew up doesn't make it generic. My gosh, some anti-dance fans are so uneducated. Dance is a large genre, much like Pop or R&B; different dance tracks sound different, just like different pop tracks and different R&B tracks, etc.
My point exactly.
Just because Clarity is a EDM song doesn't mae it generic.
Thos are probably the same people who say RnB songs aren't generic because they don't smash
It's generic because it's a mainstream genre where producers copy & paste songs over. I'm not saying all the genre is generic because some producers do it very well, but Zedd and Calvin Harris?
I was with a friend the other day and the radio was on and I kept skipping because every song was either Wake Me Up 2.0 or that new Calvin Harris/Alesso song but literally if you skip the station and it starts halfway through, the songs all sound the same.
To $amuel - Calvin's old stuff is good, but I think the UK in particular eats up the dance music a lot more than anywhere else, so maybe that's why I'm sick of it a bit because it's truthfully basic and all I ever hear
2012 (You Must Be Upgraded), Elizabeth My Dear, $EX TOY$, You Control My Heart and even Past Lives >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Clarity and Stay The Night have the exact same formula as so many songs, and they aren't even done well. I'll admit I like Clarity because of Foxes but Stay The Night is terrible even though I like Hayley and Paramore but her voice is terrible on the track, and it proves how generic Zedd is because the two songs are nearly exactly the same as his production on the second isn't even good. He literally replicated his own song which was already generic.
If Ke$ha worked with Zedd or Calvin Harris as a feature I wouldn't care, but if either of them had more than one track on her album I'd be pissed.
Most songs we heared from Lipsha give me a similar vibe tho
Like i already said nothing Zedd released sounds like anything on the radio. And of course EDM songs with features need to have certain formula so that a singer can fit on it but that doesn't make a song generic. Production wise STN and Clarity are far from being similar and just because they build up a certain way doesn't make the a copy/paste kinda thing

Girl bye, all ya dumb genres can be generic, not just EDM dance ****, BUT THAT'S WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SO WHY WOULD I MENTION RnB.

nnnn maybe they "don't sound like anything on radio" where your from. Can I move to you. thanks.
If K$ wants to truthfully go electronic/dance route again (though evidenced by Lip$ha and what she's been making/listening to recently, I honestly don't think she is, and I'd be prepared to give that up for her to do what she wants), this is the kind of route she should take
RnB was just an example and not directed to anyone in here But the juist many people saying just because a song is RnB it can't be generic
Well, I don't agree with that. Any genre can be generic, and yeah you can say everything is generic because they are all similarly characterised in some way like a genre, but it's about bringing individuality and something new and I don't see a lot doing that. Actually, I think a much less generic DJ is Avicii, his album is incredibly fresh, but would I want him to work with K$? I don't know. Like I said I'm all for features but I think for her own albums she should be allowed to do what she wants.
in 1 hour and 15 minutes im getting my presents for christmas
and i know that one of the presents is a ke$ha t-shirt
i just dont know with what picture on it

I disagree with Avicii. I think he is extremely generic with his new album. It seems more like dance pop to me than whatever genre he didn before. Comparing Levels to his new music, just makes it sound a bit basic
Well, overall, I wouldn't mind her featuring for one of their songs like Timber, because as a Ke$ha fan I'm here for anything she's a part of, but I think if they were to be on her album it would be a waste of a space which another track could have taken. Just my thoughts, I know we all differ (especially me. It's like I'm one of the most controversial people in this base).
Anyway, if she were to do something like that, I'd so be here for a song like this. I don't know if you'll have heard this but I think its stellar.

Opened my presents, i got Born this way and ARTPOP cd's, flop stan for not having them before
ARTPOP is fine, but you didn't have Born This Way yet?
I always try to get my faves' CDs less than a month after release, but sometimes it could end up going over that. I can only walk somewhere by myself once in a blue moon to get CDs and my parents don't approve of my music choices.
