Actually it does. Your past can effect you as much as the present. Sega Genesis getting lashings from SNES sealed its fate.
Sony slaying endlessly with PS2 sealed it's future success as a brand in the gaming world after its strong debut as PS1.

The Last of Us didn't sell because it had a straight to DVD release. You can basically watch this video and get the same experience you would by playing it. Most people saw right through the critical acclaim (paid for by Sony) and skipped the $60 price tag.

That's petty PR talk. We are talking business, PS3 sold enough. Sega Dreamcast didn't = end of.

If there was no 3DS, there would have been huge changes at Nintendo.

This is how business works, keep your shareholders happy.

No lies spotted.
Shareholders only affect the present. When you get destroyed on the charts for a whole era, that leaves you as a company, running at a loss.

Even if shareholders decided to come back with Dreamcast smashing, the damage was done from the Genesis era and would have resulted badly for their next console.

Nobody smashes two eras in a row (except Nintendo ) when it comes to gaming. Sega would have never been able to smash Dreamcast and a potential future console without folding eventually because Genesis screwed them bad

Nintendo Land was only being sold with deluxe Wii Us but many people bought the basic and then the basic got discontinued so many months back and Nintendo Land was taken away from the deluxe. So who's to say that Nintendo Land wasn't smashing on its own? It was on the charts every week. Stay pressed.
