You can literally do this with any artist and pick out songs that tackle different themes.

The "same song" thing isn't even about theme, it's about sound. All her songs sound the same. It's the same production, same chord changes, same structures, same everything. It doesn't even matter what she's singing. Kelly is the same way.

You can argue that about just about every pop star who isn't a Rihanna or Beyonce, though. I mean, Gaga released like 10 dance-pop singles back-to-back, one after another.

The Monster is a complete non-event that the world has collectively ignored (despite being #1 for the past 3 weeks).
Beyonce stole 2013. Deal w it and move on.

I'm not talking about "The Disaster" chart performance, but Rihanna/her team actually have an ear for hit singles, which's not that much of a talent but the most important thing anyone in the industry will ever have.

So as much as I hate to say it and feel bad for those whose ears are bleeding from hearing Rihanna's voice on radios 24/7, she's here to stay for decades.

Beyonce ..... Exactly the opposite. She doesn't even know what a hit single sounds like. Hence, releasing "XO" which's kinda "Perfume"-ing on iTunes right now. That alone could drive her career in a whirlpool.
