The Alan Carr version I like but because her vocals aren't as gnarly as they are on the album or even her Howard Stern performance. She sings normally here and emotionally.
Really off topic, but i feel exactly like you. Katy Perry is so basic and she is nothing special, all she does is singing a song that Dr Luke gives her (and same some again and again) lol. I can't believe people like her.
Katy is just pleasing to the eyes, easy to stan to and requires no effort to actually get to like her whilst artists like Gaga requires some effort to truly understand and get.

Lemme educate you. I consider Sexxx Dreams one of her best songs and of ARTPOP in particular but it just can't be the third single. With all the hate she gets right now she needs to put out a song that many people can relate to. And Gypsy is the perfect choice. It's a love song but at the same time empowering. It's radio-friendly, it works worldwide. Got it?

Shes so bland, her music is so whatever, she doesn't sing she screams, my list can go on and on. I don't hate her or anything, I just do not understand how shes one of the biggest pop stars ever. Some people try to argue that Gaga's mediocre but I mean why slander Gaga for mediocrity when Katy Perry has like 6 number ones on one album?

But if released as a single officially though? It still won't do that well. It having reached #8 when it did would be its peak because if people aren't here for a pop song as well structured and great as Do What U Want people are not going to be here for some oddly sung ballad.
An artist writing their music should not alone be a reason to throw them a bone. Besides, even when an artist has their name on the writing credits we'll never really know how much they contributed.

Right. I would love to see Gypsy performed at the Grammys. And why would she release sex songs back-to-back when the public already isn't eating up DWUW? If they're not eating up DWUW, I doubt they'll be here for an even more provocative single so shortly afterwards. And no one wants to hear Sexxx Dreams @ the Grammys. It's not the VMAs.
