The only reason I didn't use to was because I never gave her the chance. The Navy/my family always said they didn't like her, so I assumed her music was bad. After hearing Beyoncé though, I loved the album and listened to the rest of her discography and had to stan.

My whole life has been a lie. Beyoncé is absolutely amazing and I'm glad that I stan for her now.

This is why it's good not to judge someone based on the opinions/actions of other people. I'm glad you gave her a chance!

Beyonce just doesn't seem genuine to me. I stan for artists who are real, unadulterated and authentic. People who aren't perfect, who own up to their mistakes and aren't afraid to show who they really are. Which is why people like Angelina Jolie, Rihanna, MIA, Madonna etc appeal to me and Beyonce doesn't.

Her performances don't really appeal to me, watching her interviews proves that she's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, she doesn't have much of a fashion sense and every move she makes seems calculated.

When it comes to saying when an artist is perceived to be "real" what it comes down to, to me, is the marketing behind them. For example, artists are always promoting albums as "the real me" and it's obvious that these things are just marketing ploys.

Now when it comes to performances I know that is a matter of opinion but her performances are continually perfect. Her worst is better than some's best and to question her fashion sense is ridiculous too when she's continually on best dressed lists .
