I recall some statements relating to Applause's underperformance on the Billboard charts being made, even after it spent 14 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 because it was a lead single from a major pop artist. Unconditionally was initially predicted to take iTunes by storm and reach #1 as well as be another #1 entry after Katy Perry's domination with her Teenage Dream album. What single do you think was the bigger underperformance?

The way I see it is, both songs were predicted to go #1. One reached #4 and spent 14 weeks in the Top 10, the other has failed to reach the Top 10 and has spent 0 weeks in the Top 10. Unconditionally it is.

Even with the over-saturation and promotion it still couldn't even crack top 10 on itunes!!! And obviously radios were forced to play it because they've dropped it like a rock this week now that Capitol has given the okay for Dark Horse to smash.

Obviously Uncon but I'm still voting Apploss cause it had zero impact and was such a non event for a lead single while Uncle will at least be remembered for its awful performances.

Maybe in KK_Lover's world Applause was seen as a flop single, but not in Billboards world. (multiple weeks in the top 10 lol!)

Also, don't take your frustration out on Lady Gaga just because DWYW is still climbing and Gaga her Artpop has already spawned 2 top 10 singles (unlike Prism lol!)

Applause considering Unconditionally is flopping because of Dark Horse+Roar. And it's a second single, we'll see how DWUW does.
