Very untrue. Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and New Kids on the Block are all still very famous and make a lot of money by touring. Older woman still scream for them at their live shows, just not in public places. You just won't see their fans follow them around because their demographic is older.
But at the same time, not sure if some people still refer to those groups as boybands.
