Someone here posted here that the lead singles off of her albums always extend off of the most successful song off her last album. While Blow is different thematically, it does sort of play off of the retro danceable vibe that "Love on Top" had.

Mine would have been the perfect surprise comeback lead single for urban/rhythmic radios if they hadn't released the album like they did. The video cut is the perfect length for radio without the intro, it has a Drake collab which would have boosted sales from Drake fans, it has a catchy hook, an amazing video, and it's a damn good song.
