A fall entry, Augury could've been higher if the cutoff went a bit later. The hipster-like lesbian-hinting video is a perfect compliment to the minor-key song. My personal highlights of the song are the unorthodox time signature in the verses (5/8!!!!) and the cute, major, little earworm of an outro.
Another fall entry with female vocals. This MŲ song strikes a perfect balance between its fun dance-y production and its deep, contemplative lyrics. Diplo lends a hand on the song's production.
Yet another fall entry by a female vocalist. The ethereal, mystical arrangement of this song is completed by Mariam's unique singing style. The song is from Mariam's debut album Blood Donation, and this isn't the last you'll be seeing of the European vocalist on this countdown.
Rubblebucket brings their personal style to this Doobie Brothers classic. The song, a cut from their most recent EP Save Charlie, is full of whistling, synths, horns and guitar. You'll be hearing more from Rubblebucket soon.
Thanks for checking my Best Of out, and be sure to stick around!
Welcome to my Best Of 2013! This year has been a year of discovery for me (in terms of music, not sexuality *eyes TC crew*). I started discovering more obscure songs and artists and a lot of what I listened to this year was in fact not from 2013, although I still did include it on this countdown. Hopefully you too will be able to discover some cool songs from this thread[/CENTER]
Here are some hints for the next update which will come tomorrow. Each hint is a line from the song with the words rearranged.
