For the 3DS I recommend

Shin Megami Tensei 4 if you live for turn based combat and world exploration.

Etrian Odyssey 4 if you are a strict dungeon crawling junkie.

Rune Factory 4, I haven't personally played it but my friend says it's loads of fun.

Nnnn go home. NNK had an amazing plot (albeit a rushed ending) and the gameplay was at least a 7/10.

3FES def, but I think the most universally loved one is P4.

FES has an expanded ending and a couple of game tweaks. Consider it Persona 3 Final Mix (if you get the reference to Kingdom Hearts.)

Either is a great place to start, but I def suggest FES if you want to experience the whole plot.



Also I personally hated the first 2 but some people liked them. The formula for the series completely changed for 3.

Persona 3 FES!!! P3Portable was a mess! They took out all the free roaming in place of a point-and-click format.

Start with 3 FES>PORTABLE and then P4.
I played P1 and P2 on my PSP, they were ok but the dated mechanics and flow of the game turned me off so much

Only good thing about portable is you get to built relationships with your male cast members who have so much cuter dialog and dates.

A new one is releasing this Spring exclusively to the PS3.



I'm picking up a PS4 this Xmas but I'm starting to regret it. There are so many good JRPGs coming out next year its ridiculous
