Capitol would be foolish if they chose not to go with Dark Horse. I know Katy WANTS Birthday as the third single, but I don't this she has much of a choice at this point. Radio, especially Rhythmic, is going to play DH regardless of what Capitol "sends" to them. The demand is just too high.
It really is impressive how Katy tracks are just picked up by radio with no effort on her part.
All the while other artists have to go for massive attention grabbing stunts to achieve moderate hits.

The lies though. Only difference between the two songs is 20M AI in airplay and that one has a music video that didn't even receive the benefit of VEVO ads on Youtube. DWUW has had SNL and AMAs, #1/Top 10 exposure on iTunes, a freaking commercial, etc etc. It's almost shocking it didn't pull a Dark Horse after all the numerous threads of it going #1 in who knows how many countries.
