It's sad, but I notice in real life that no one around me likes her anymore. They don't relate or enjoy anything she does - none of her songs, performances, or outfits.
Her sales are now hugely propelled by her devout Monsters, who she's segmented & isolated against the casual fan. There is a stigma with her fanbase that, as good as her intentions are, has people a little hesitant to like her or be seen buying an ARTPOP record. That's just one aspect though.
I have never liked the title "the Monsters". It's kind of baby talk to me.
