I completely get you. But if less powerful touring acts like Rihanna, Justin, and Pink and grossing over the $100 million mark, I think it's safe to say Gaga still has the potential to, even if she doesn't come close to the Born This Way Ball's numbers. We really won't know until tickets go on sale.

I agree that her attempt to commercialize her concept this album isn't working.. but imo it's out of line to say that the songs don't fit the album concept, even if the GP are disliking it.. She definitely infused ART into this album. The point was that ART doesn't have to be niche/indie.. It doesn't have to be experimental (although i wish it was) to be ART. The ART ideology is clearly there with all the greek mythology references and talk of the "critics"

That's the problem though, she's been making these extremely pop songs since TF but why is she taking it so literally now? That's what I and the critics don't seem to understand and also forcing something down anyone's throat is never a good idea

she's both though.. interesting that in one of her recent interviews though she was talking about ARTPOP concept and talked about how her purpose was to focus on ART & POP in that order... I thought the concept of the album was to have each in equal parts

well that's the concept of ARTPOP... it's very meta imo.. like she's trying to show all the bolts behind her persona, creativity, and thought process. She's shown this through the concept of the album and many performances (like the Applause VMA)

I totally get not appreciating/liking this concept, just like many didn't like the BTW concept, but it's here to stay for this era. I don't think she thinks of it as she's just now begun to make art, but rather this era is about pushing her methodology of art to the forefront.

I loved BTW and all its messiness, I love concept/themed albums. So I wonder if she's really pushing the "art" this time around does that mean her previous efforts weren't works of "art"? She obviously would say yes my past albums and performances were all very art and very Gaga. However the way she speaks now makes it seem like pop music in general is not art and its only art when she is drowning it literally with art.
Does that make any ****ing sense to anybody? In a way I feel she is dissing pop music

She made it her mission to prove that Pop music can be art so now that she is putting "real art" into it kinda contradicts her previous statements
