Almost every single one of the performances were horrific vocally. I didn't see the Ariana girl though so I can't speak about her. You know it's a sad day when X-Tina is maybe the highlight of an awards show.

For me the best performance was J Lo's tribute to Celia Cruz. I mean that was total slayage!!

Anyways, back to KC, just saw the performance, so amazing and she's still so cute and happy (despite the morning sickness lol) and I'm very glad the album's in the Top 10. The album deserves to be A) ahead of DD, B) sell more than DD.

Aside from all the yeahs I thought she sounded great. I'd like to hear her go for some bigger notes at the end though. But the fuller band definitely helps compared to her other performances.

My review from the taping, might be some spoilers: So I was at the pretaping for Kelly's performance for the band bench. I was standing right behind the drummer and Jason. First off, I got to kinda hear her rehearsal through the wall while waiting in the next room. Eventually we were let in and Kelly's band came out. They started taking selfies and recordings. I think it was einar who told us to sway in the same direction him and the horns during the song. Kelly came out. She was all pretty in red of course. Taping started and she sang. The band was so loud, I could barely hear Kelly's vocals, but it won't be like that when you watch on tv. Then when she got to the high note in the bridge for "underneath the tree" and she made a face and made everyone stop. She turned to Jason and was like "idk what to do". Both Ashley's came up to her and went to get something. So there was a slight break as they went to get something for her. Kelly looked exhausted and awful. She complained how she doesn't have her rings and she doesn't know how she's gonna perform in Rockefeller later, "and it'll be cold". Some more chatter to the band and a little to us and she sang it a second time. She didn't even attempt to hit the note this time. As soon as it ended she took off her heels and was about to leave. Then the guy reminded her how she has to wave at the camera pretending she's waving at Fallon. The end! P.s since this was a pretaping, she won't be interacting with Fallon or josh. They weren't in the studio yet unfortunately. P.p.s I was going to go to the tree lighting afterwards but this was already intimate and kelly had the same complaints about it as I did. Lol
