Damn.

I LOVE this album though. Like, the anthemic nature, the instrumentation as a whole, everything. Like OIDIA (just for reference as to why I love it), it knows exactly what it wants to be and does not fail to reach its own goals. It aims to be a strong pop album with fun, relatable themes while at the same time not being excessively generic and already overdone, and that's something I've come to appreciate a LOT in pop music. Some of my faves are admittedly too ambitious with their records; this is commendable in itself, but often leads two a few missteps. Others are simply not ambitious enough, and settle for making music that's only almost at their peak potential. Some are disorganized and disjointed as to the genre and scope of their projects, resulting in albums with a lot of material that I love and then some I care for very little. This album, like some others I love such as Ke$ha's Warrior and Brit's OIDIA, has a cohesive sonic theme and goal without taking itself too seriously or overshooting or being lazy. It's not exactly a work of art and it's not going to change the world, but it never aimed to be/do either of those and it takes what it does and then does it better than anything else.
IDK, I'm procrastinating on Biology so I figured I'd throw out all my thoughts.

idk why u guys have such a problem with him but maybe u guys can have a blog or something to get out all ur mean comments cos its getting really anoying how u guys fill pages making nasty comments about him
this is supposed to be a place where we talk about 1D not single out one member right?
i was told i wasnt allowed to gush about how perfect he is so why r u guys allowed to go on & on about how awful u think he is?

I agree Penny. It's hurtful and doesn't make any sense.
Something Great and Better Than Words tanking on iTunes compared to the other tracks though.

I agree with most of your points, and am very happy that we have a new convert
I am extremely impressed that we found someone higher on the album than Penny

I am hoping it can go #1 for a while afterwards.
Either way it can't chart high this week. "Complete my album" itunes purchases will devastate its numbers.

CMA doesn't count against the Hot 100 anymore, just HDS.

Hot Digital Songs, the sales chart! They might only get like 50k on there, but on the Hot 100 they'd get full points for that PLUS the sales taken away by CMA.

I agree with you. It's such an improvement from TMH. Tbh that one didn't have a clear goal and although the songs were cute the album was all over the place. Midnight Memories is more cohesive and it shows a clear direction for them in which they should keep going.
