May I request a refund for my ATRL+, then? Because I paid money hoping it would go to the new server. I was unaware that such changes would be made to the site, and I believe changes to a site (technically) sponsored by users should be in breech of contract if such changes are made are against clientele wishes.

You guys, this is how organizations in the real world work. Management decides upon the direction they want to take things in and the rest of the organization either works to help make that vision a reality or they move on.

I'm glad to know that so many of you feel passionately enough about ATRL to have strong opinions on this change. That's what makes the site so wonderful: the dedicated and engaged community. But the level of discourse has dropped precipitously in recent years to the point where the owners feel it is hurting the site.

These changes are not meant to censor your expression. We're trying to refocus ATRL back on its core function of music and pop culture discussion. If you joined the site for other reasons and feel it is no longer meeting your expectations, then I completely respect your right to leave. But I also hope you can stick around and enjoy yourself just as much when the forum is centered around activity than we can all appreciate and engage in.

what i just quoted comes directly from the blogs section, which has always been there. if the core function of atrl is to discuss pop culture and whatnot then you should just rid of the lounge too there's plenty of functions, areas and opportunities to discuss pop culture in atrl. discusion that involve topics irrespective to pop culture only exist in the lounge in blogs, and these areas are only 2 of the 9 fields/tabs of categorized discussion (music news, base etc). atrl already focuses heavily on pop culture and the blogs does not diminish this factor in any way

A lot of you guys are overreacting, honestly.

Hell, I own the Dirty Talk Blog and I'm not even upset about these. I can understand the changes. The blogs are hilarious and messy, but I can still see the point in enforcing these new rules. The only thing I can be against is the take down of my smash hit blog. I wish we could just have that be the sole place to take all explicit discussions and no where else, while still having warning tags with links in them and all that. There should still be somewhere to do it.
