I mean, Beyonce is the type of artist that gets random songs to chart in the hot 100 after nearly a decade of it being out.
Who else? Michael: Yes, Janet: Definitely No.

There is absolutely no truth to that.
Also, Beyonce isn't very popular here in my country.

I mean, it's hard for me to jugde cause I'm growing up with Beyoncé, and have hardly ever heard of things Janet has done.
So I'd say because of that reason I would vote Beyoncé, but that would be foolish cause I have no idea what it was like back in the day when Janet was up there.

Same, the only thing we have are the reciepts to compare objectively and Beyonce easily beats her on that matter.
Janet's impact seems to have hit Britney and Ciara the hardest, which was to have very formulated choreography in addition to nearly nonexistent vocals.
Beyonce is the greatest dancing singer of all time. She has a style that is very difficult to emulate on both the dancing and singing side. No one will be emulating both because they can't, and especially not at the same time! Decades later she will be remembered for her talents just like with Streisand and Aretha.
Janet will always get overlooked because of Michael.

Receipts for what? Album sales? Janet crushes Beyonce. Tour gross? Beyonce has still yet to match Janets overall tour gross. #1 singles? Janet has 10 and Beyonce is unlikely to ever get a top 10 hit again. Critical acclaim? Janet's big 4 albums are much more influential and groundbreaking than Beyonces Medicore discography. Anyway receipts shouldn't be used in a legacy thread because if that's the case then Jennifer Lopez is a bigger than Etta James. Dead @ Beyonce being the greatest dancing singer of all time, how disrespectful to the person she copies off, Tina Turner.

But they are alike sis where do you think the empowerment anthems come from?? Janet may not be her biggest inspirations like Tina, MJ & Prince. But to deny that Bey doesn't come form the house of Janet is lies

When Janet makes an album HALF as good as the janet. album or even the RN album which by the way aren't isn't her top 2 then we can talk.
Janet' was unstoppable for 5 eras

This thread didn't backfire because the poll is actually closer than I thought it would be, considering all the Bey haters on atrl. And I'm sorry, but when I look at Bey's performances and vocal ability there is nothing that rings Janet Jackson in my head.lol No ma'am, Janet's influence is in Britney, Ciara and maybe Aaliyah. Its usually the tomboyish girls with a huge lack of vocal ability. Bey is mixture of Mariah and Tina Turner, which is great vocal ability Mariah and great dancing Tina.
I'm sure by the time Bey reaches Janet's age and sooner, she will have surpassed Janet in album sells and most definitely tour gross and she already surpassed her in networth. Beyoncé's influence is seen in Rih's early career, Adele constantly mentions Bey as the most influential artist on her career,Tamar, Selena Gomez and even Ariana Grande has mentioned how Bey has influenced her career. I don't hear any of these girls mentioning Janet.

In terms of music, obviously Janet. She broke barriers, provided the blueprint, and was groundbreaking. Beyonce while very talented has never been groundbreaking or innovative.

Y'all gotta be joking. Beyoncé copies Janet. Her legacy is already bigger than Beyoncé's.

Like Bey said, she's not here for the quick lil singles. With just half of the #1s she slayed Janet's weeks @ #1.
She and one other person in the history of the world are the only females to have spent over a year at the top of the charts with their full careers.
Stop posting reciepts if you feel like they prove nothing. Bey has better reciepts and she will always have better reciepts.
Tina is not the better singer.

But Tina Turner is a better singer than Beyonce. Adele has said her favorite Diva was Mariah, not Beyonce. Okay good for her, with all the hype Beyonce gets its about time she starts influencing some stars, still not comparable to Janet though. Also, how can Beyonce ever outdo Janets album sales? I highly doubt she will have an era as big as DIL again.

It was never my intention to post receipts but you provoke it with your lies. Tina is a better singer than Beyonce, there's another career you're clearly not educated on. Tina has more range and power. The 'Wildest Dreams' album is better vocally than any Bey album and Tina was in her mid 50's on it.

Receipts show OBJECTIVITY, not subjectivity.
I'd be embarrassed if I were a blood relative of yours.
Beyonce's dancing isn't complex, not in the least bit. She's not even a true dancer, for that matter. Also, Beyonce doesn't simultaneously sing and dance.
Shut up.

No tea, no shade, but where did Beyonce place on Billboard's 55 Year Anniversary chart?

That is subjective and you are welcomed to your opinion, but no one ever mentions Tina in a category of vocalist like Mariah, Whitney, Xtina and Bey. Bey and Xtina are constantly compared as far as vocal ability. Tina is more known for her dancing and stage presence. Again, Adele has stated on several occasions the Bey is her biggest influence, that she can do no wrong. Bey, can easily out do Janet's album sells, no one knows what her next era will be like and don't even get me started on tour gross. Bey is set to gross $200 mil off a so called flop 4 era, most artist can't have hugely successful tour coming off the heals of an underperforming era.

How is she having better recept's though?? Janet'salbms are way more acclaimed, groundbreaking innovative. She is a much better dancer and has larger impact and I say this objectively. Sales doesn't equal bigger impact, and if we did bring sales into this then it would benefit Janet more than bey if anything

Is that why Tina was ranked above even Whitney on the RS greatest singers of all time? So your telling me it's possible for Beyonce to sell over 10 million multiple times? That's what it's going to require for her to pass Janet. Touring is a big market nowadays, Janet was a big touring artist, having the most successful debut tout by a solo artist ever, and her total gross still is ahead of Beyonce.
