I know deaths are inevitable in this type of situation but we should thank God that the death toll remains at the number. Yes, it is undeniably hailed as the strongest typhoon of the year based on its stats alone but it is just selfish on your part to *extensively wish deaths upon people who are under these circumstances. Should you be happy that people are still safe right now?

Probably because the people knew better. Super Typhoon Bopha - with 600 fatalities made the country not to underestimate the force of nature. And the government as well as the media made round the clock announcements and up-to-date information. Evacuations where made.

It's nice to see that this time around, the country is prepared to face a Super Typhoon.

I didn't wish deaths, I just found the title very strange. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut anyways since I got a WP for that remark

That's a good thing.

With speeds at landfall of 195mph and gusts of up to 235mph, Haiyan is believed to be stronger than the world's last strongest tropical cyclone which was recorded in the US at 190mph in 1969.

And, actually, it's more serious than the 'strongest typhoon of the year.'
